Stubborn hope.

Straw manger

Stubborn hope, you’re unrelenting,
Chipping away patiently at fear and despair.
Stubborn peace, soar above my resenting,
Breathing forgiveness that’s far beyond fair.
Stubborn joy, you refuse to be broken
By circumstances flying out of control.
Stubborn faith, grind into motion
When tiny steps seem an impossible goal.

Do you know, child of hope, that you’ll overcome fear?
Do you know, child of peace, that in you God comes near?
Do you know, child of joy, the kind of life you’ll go through?
Do you know, child of faith, that our trust rests in you?

No desert too parched to restore with your life.
No corner too dark to be lit by your light.
Holy child in your manger, for tonight sleep soundly.
For we, on bended knee, know we need you profoundly.
